Spring Flowers

Spring is one of my favorite times of year because there are so many flowers blooming (this is probably shocking to those who know me because I have severe seasonal allergies). I just think flowers are so pretty and happy and despite the sneezing and itchy eyes they give me they smell and look wonderful!

Since it is Spring and since I love flowers so much...this year I have decided to go on an extended Spring Flower Safari...

What is a Spring Flower Safari you ask? I made it up...it is basically me taking my camera with me and taking pictures of flowers as I come across them...knowing that I spend much of my time during the week working inside a stuffy old building and that my weekends are not necessarily spent in or around places where flowers abound (though, there are lots of flowers in my yard). So, I have been arranging weekly outings to places where flowers are and have taken many lovely pictures.

Since the beginning of Spring I have gone on several picnics, a couple of hikes, and attended several other events where flowers have abounded. Not to mention...many things have been blooming in my yard!

Here are some lovely examples of Pretty Spring Flowers that have been "captured" on my safari...
(disclaimer...I don't know what type of flowers some of these are...)

Lilacs!
A Lady Bug! It was rather large too
 A slightly Pink Daisy
Lavender
Stars of Bethlehem (They open when the sun is on them...and close when it isn't! so cool)
Bleeding Hearts...so cute!
Stars of Bethlehem in amongst some mint...and apparently...a fly
Blue Bells beneath some trees at another park
No idea what this flower is either...but it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland for some reason...I love its pattern and color! I found it by the observatory of a park...not tag on it though to give its name.
No idea what this flower is...but it is cute!
delicately colored Tulip
Pink flowered cherry tree at another park
This tree to me was amazing and had to be included
close up of double blossom cherry tree
fancy tulips!
cherry tree with double blossoms
Pansies!
hot pink azealea
cherry tree covered in moss...and ivy
a deep purple hyacinth
No idea what these flowers are...but they were just peeping out of the grass and it was too cute to ignore!
Tons of little daisy's at a park...with gorgeous Oak trees as a bonus!
Grape Hyacinths looking lovely and smelling divine!
Cherry blossoms getting ready to open
Not a flower...but I love moss covered stuff...so, this rock qualifies.
