So, the other day, while scrumming around on Pinterest instead of folding my laundry and putting it away like the responsible adult I SAY that I am, I found information on a random website called Kleki. (http://kleki.com) What is this site you ask? Well, it is an electronic painting site...where you can draw images, import and export images, layer images, and basically just create whatever you wish digitally.
Now, I am not as great with the painting/drawing thing as say, Pinnotheres...who is VERY good! But, I still enjoy doing it. (And that is the whole point...I don't have to be able to create works of art that centuries from now people will look at in museums and ponder my greatness for...I just have to create something that I enjoy creating...For me it is about the process of expressing oneself that is important. Enjoy it. Don't put pressure on yourself to create something like some famous artist...they had to practice until they got to that stage and so will you if that is where you want to go with your art. Accept and love you skill level and enjoy the process of learning/practicing more whether you are doing so to "improve" your skill or just to pass the time.)
But I digress. Back to Kleki. As I was saying...it is a painting site. You can increase the size, shape, and type of your brushes, the properties of the paint itself...opaqueness, its ability to blend, the color, you can change the contrast values, you can layer, you can erase, you can also change the size of the picture (zoom in or zoom out) as well as move the picture around. You can also change the angle you can view the picture from as well as other aspects I have not yet gone into.
My first attempt at drawing something:
This first one is made simply...barely delving into the capacities of the site. It was so fun to make I decided to make something else so here is my second attempt:
The second one I chose to focus on the layering function...and fiddle with the opacity and blending properties of the paint. It was such fun! Now of course I want to go and dabble in a ton more effects just to see what happens! Who knows what I will create Next!
Just remember, inspiration and fun can strike at any time from any direction!
