State Fair

It is the beginning of the fall season, school is in full force, and so is the State Fair! I have always loved going to the fair. So many things to see...animals, art, people! I especially love the Hobby Hall and the art contests and such. This year I oohed over the cute bunnies in the barn, marveled at all the wonderful things others collect, and then spent several hours in the Pavilion looking at beautiful quilts and other works of art. I do not know that I will ever enter any of my quilts into the fair, or any of my knitting for that matter, however, I enjoy seeing what others have entered. I like seeing the evidence of their shared enthusiasm for something I love. I also love to see in the mind boggling array of creativity and skills on display! Some of those quilts were breath-taking in their beauty! And some (downstairs) were created by children! It was an honor to see such skill in someone so much younger than I. (Indeed, I feel honored to see such skill in anyone) So, if you haven't been to the fair in a while...you might go...just to see the work of others who enjoy creating art as much as we do!
